Welcome to the interactive web version
of the Australasian Health Facility Guidelines (HFG) Revision v2.0. As of 23
November 2007, this version of Australasian HFG was endorsed by HCAMC for
industry use for all jurisdictions across Australia and New Zealand.
WHAT'S NEW?
Development
work on the Australasian Health Facility Guidelines continues in accordance with
the agreed program. The following departmental Guidelines are currently out for
industry review:
• Front of House
• Admission
• Acute Adult Mental Health Unit (revision)
• Cardiac Investigation Unit (including cardiac catheter laboratories)
• Coronary Care Unit
• Nuclear Medicine Unit
• Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Unit
• Rehabilitation Inpatient Unit
• Inpatient Accommodation Unit (revision)
Once all comments are approved for the
Acute Adult Mental Health Unit, CHAA will complete the development of a new
Mental Health Unit for Older People and the revision of the Child & Adolescent
Mental Health Unit. We are also awaiting final comment by each jurisdiction,
revision of Part D of the Australasian Guideline - Infection Prevention and
Control. We anticipate that this revised section of the Guidelines will be
issued later this year or early in 2009.
Upcoming guidelines to be developed or
reviewed include:
• Medical Imaging Unit (Revision)
• Operating Unit (Revision)
• Multipurpose Services Unit (Revision)
• Non Acute Mental Health Unit
• Acute Aged Care Unit
• Palliative Care Unit
• Education & Training Unit
Please notify CHAA if you would like to be
involved with the review process for any of these units by email to:
